Senior Tax Manager

£55,000 – £65,000 per annum
Our client, a leading independent professional services firm, is looking for an experienced Senior Tax Manager specialising in HMRC Investigations to join their specialist tax team on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Tax Manager who enjoys working on complex cases, solving challenging problems and providing strategic advice to clients. You’ll take ownership of a varied portfolio of HMRC investigations, acting as a trusted adviser throughout the process and using your technical expertise to navigate complex tax issues and achieve effective resolutions.
With exposure to high-value and technically interesting work, strong client relationships and opportunities to mentor and develop others, this role offers an excellent platform for an experienced tax professional looking to further establish themselves within tax investigations and dispute resolution.
The Responsibilities:
- Lead HMRC investigations through to resolution
- Manage COP8, COP9 and voluntary disclosure cases
- Advise clients on tax risks and exposure
- Analyse complex tax issues and identify solutions
- Represent clients in HMRC meetings and negotiations
- Manage voluntary disclosures and investigations
- Build strong client and professional relationships
- Prepare reports, advice and case documentation
- Mentor junior colleagues and support training
- Keep up to date with tax legislation and HMRC practice
The Candidate:
- CTA qualified (ACA, CA or ACCA advantageous)
- Significant tax investigations experience with strong UK tax and HMRC knowledge
- Excellent analytical, communication and relationship-building skills
- Commercially minded with experience in business development and coaching others
