Purchase Ledger Clerk

Our client, a well-established and reputable organisation, is currently seeking a diligent and organised Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their finance team on a full-time, permanent basis. This opportunity offers hybrid working options.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to accounts payable. As the Purchase Ledger Clerk, you will play a key role in delivering a professional and timely accounting service, ensuring the smooth operation of the purchase ledger function.
The responsibilities:
- Process purchase requisitions and raise purchase orders
- Receive, review, and accurately record supplier invoices
- Match invoices to purchase orders and verify coding, charges, and VAT
- Prepare and process supplier payments in line with procedures
- Communicate with suppliers and issue remittance advices
- Maintain and update supplier accounts and records within the finance system
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve queries promptly
- Assist with month-end tasks and provide general finance support
The candidate:
- Studying towards AAT level 2, 3 or 4
- Proven purchase ledger / accounts payable experience, ideally within a commercial finance team.
- Strong attention to detail with a logical, methodical approach.
- Confident and professional communicator, able to build positive relationships with suppliers and colleagues.
- Highly organised and IT literate, with experience using finance systems and Microsoft Office applications.
