Head of Finance
Plymouth, Devon
£60,000 – £70,000 + Bonus + Benefits

Our client, a long-established and fast-growing business, are now seeking a proactive and commercially minded Head of Finance to join their leadership team on a full-time, permanent basis.

As Head of Finance, you’ll join the senior leadership team, shaping a growing finance function and driving the business through its next phase of expansion. Taking full ownership of financial operations, you’ll enhance reporting, systems and performance insight while combining hands-on control with strategic influence to keep finance central to key decisions.

The responsibilities:

• Lead and develop a small finance team to deliver robust financial control.
• Oversee all day-to-day accounting activities and monthly management reporting.
• Drive improvements in systems, forecasting and process efficiency.
• Produce insightful MI and KPI reporting to support growth decisions.
• Manage cashflow, budgeting and working capital planning.
• Partner with the leadership team on business strategy and performance.
• Liaise with external advisors on audit, compliance and tax matters.

The candidate:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with 3+ years’ post-qualified experience.
• A confident and hands-on finance leader, equally strong operationally and strategically.
• Experience gained in multi-site or product-based environments would be ideal.
• Strong Excel modelling and management reporting skills.
• Driven, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-moving SME environment.
