Finance Manager
Tavistock, Devon
£45,000 – £50,000 per annum depending on experience
Lloyd Barnes is working exclusively with a leading Devon based charity to recruit a qualified Finance Manager for their forward-thinking leadership team. This full-time, permanent role is office-based, with the option to work in a hybrid pattern after probation.
As Finance Manager, you’ll take full responsibility for daily financial operations, steer budgeting and forecasting, and ensure all statutory reporting and regulatory requirements are met. You’ll develop and streamline financial processes, supervise payroll, manage audits, and play a central part in supporting the charity’s long-term sustainability.
The responsibilities:
- Leading the charity’s financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Producing timely, accurate management information and reporting to support strategic decisions.
- Managing financial operations including audit, statutory accounts and internal controls.
- Overseeing payroll, pensions, cash management and investments.
- Acting as a key advisor to the CEO and Trustees, contributing to board discussions.
- Developing systems and processes to continuously strengthen efficiency and compliance.
- Line managing and supporting the Finance team to deliver exceptional service.
The candidate:
- Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA or equivalent) is preferred.
- Robust understanding of financial reporting, analysis and risk management.
- Confidence liaising with auditors, banks and external partners.
- Excellent IT proficiency, with experience using finance systems and strong Excel skills.
- Experience in the charity or not-for-profit sector would be useful but is by no means essential.
