Management Accountant
Plymouth, Devon
£40,000 – £50,000 per annum
Our client, a growing organisation based in Plymouth, is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity to join an evolving business on a full-time, permanent basis with flexible hybrid working arrangements.
As Management Accountant, you will play a key role in delivering accurate management accounts, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, while providing valuable commercial analysis to support strategic decision-making and business growth. This opportunity is well suited to an experienced Management Accountant who thrives in a dynamic environment and is motivated to drive continuous improvement across the organisation.
The responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly management accounts, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Deliver insightful board reporting, including variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior year performance.
- Support the annual budgeting process and periodic financial forecasting.
- Process month-end journals, accruals, prepayments, allocations, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Partner with operational teams to provide financial insight and support commercial decision-making.
- Assist with cash flow monitoring, short-term forecasting, and cost management initiatives.
- Contribute to audit activities, maintaining robust financial records and compliance with internal controls.
- Produce senior management and stakeholder reporting and provide ad hoc financial analysis to support business requirements.
The candidate:
- Minimum AAT Level 4 qualified, or qualified by experience
- Previous management accounting or business partnering experience
- Strong financial reporting, budgeting and analytical skills
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence using finance reporting systems
