Bookkeeper
Tiverton, Devon (office-based)
£25,000 – £30,000 per annum
Our client, a highly regarded and growing organisation, are currently seeking a Bookkeeper to join their friendly and professional team on a full-time, permanent basis.
As a Bookkeeper, you will play a key role in supporting the continued success of the professional services team, ensuring financial processes run smoothly and efficiently. You will also have a hands-on role preparing accounts, VAT returns and general accountancy practice responsibilities for a mixed client base of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
Our client places a high value on accuracy, reliability and a proactive, solutions-focused approach. This opportunity would suit either an individual with some bookkeeping experience gained within an accountancy practice, or someone who has developed a strong bookkeeping background within an industry setting who is looking to make the move into practice.
The responsibilities:
- Preparation of accounts and financial statements for a wide range of clients
- Processing purchase and sales ledger transactions
- Bank reconciliations
- VAT returns
- Assisting with month-end procedures
- Maintaining accurate financial records
- Liaising with clients/suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Supporting the preparation of management accounts
About you:
- Have previous bookkeeping experience (practice or industry)
- Are confident using accounting software and Excel
- Have strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Can manage their workload effectively and meet deadlines
- Are AAT qualified or studying (desirable but not essential)
- Enjoy working both independently and as part of a team
