Our client, an ambitious and growing organisation with an office based in Plymouth, is looking for a commercially minded Financial Controller to lead their finance function and play a visible role in the next stage of their journey. This full-time, permanent position offers hybrid working and the chance to join a collaborative leadership team that values fresh ideas, open communication, and continuous improvement.
As Financial Controller, you will be the go-to finance lead for the UK/EU business, taking full ownership of financial operations, reporting, and compliance. Working closely with senior management, you’ll provide clear, insightful financial guidance, help shape strategic decisions, and drive performance, control, and growth across the organisation.
The responsibilities:
- Lead the UK finance function, overseeing all aspects of financial management, reporting, and controls.
- Own P&L, balance sheet, forecasting, cashflow, and statutory processes, while preparing management accounts with actionable insights to drive strategic decisions.
- Act as a trusted partner to senior leadership, liaise with auditors, and champion best practices and efficiency in systems, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
The candidate:
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with experience in senior finance or Financial Controller roles.
- Strong technical accounting expertise, managing end-to-end finance and ensuring full compliance.
- Commercially astute and analytical, turning data into informed business decisions.
- Proactive, adaptable, and hands-on, thriving on ownership, change, and driving improvement.
