Qualified Accountant
Redruth
£35,000 – £45,000 DOE

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a friendly, professional accountancy practice based in Redruth, Cornwall. With a collaborative and approachable culture, their ethos is based around working together to put the customer first. They have an excellent reputation in the community and are now looking to expand their team to service their continued growing client base.

This is an opportunity for an experienced accountant to join their ranks at a senior level. For the motivated and ambitious candidate, there is the prospect to progressing to Director level and becoming a Shareholder in the future.

The responsibilities:

  • Managing the client portfolio, reviewing the work of junior members of staff, preparing the tax computations and additional client services for Director review.
  • Accounts preparation for the client portfolio, ranging from individuals and sole-traders through to Partnerships and Limited Companies.
  • Maintaining the client relationships through clear communications and visits when necessary.
  • Advising on client tax-saving opportunities, with experience of tax planning tailored to the specific client, ranging from sole-traders through to more complex tax computations for Limited Companies.
  • Preparation of self-assessment tax returns for the individuals in the client portfolio.

The candidate:

  • ACA/ACCA Qualified or qualified by experience. Part-Qualified candidates are still welcome to apply.
  • Experience of working within a practice environment.
  • Experience of accounting systems FreeAgent, Xero and Quickbooks would all be desirable but not essential.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Suite including Word and Excel. Additional knowledge of Iris would be useful.
  • Strong knowledge of VAT, CIS, HMRC liaising, Benefits In Kind
  • Strong knowledge of capital gains tax, tax efficient investments would be desirable, but no essential.
  • A positive and can-do attitude with the willingness to work as part of a team, pulling together and motivating junior members of staff to meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent client communications abilities via all means available.
  • Excellent time-management skills with the ability to prioritse workloads and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
