Our client is looking for a capable Finance Manager to join their sociable & busy Exeter team. This role encompasses a varied range of responsibilities including bookkeeping, management reporting, management accounting and VAT returns for a varied range of clients. The Finance Manager is a fantastic “Hands-On” role that allows the right person a real opportunity to work at the heart of a local business.
Responsibilities include:
- Setting budgets alongside the directorate.
- Forecasting revenues, expenditure & cash flow to assist with business decisions.
- Monitoring & reporting on revenue and expenditure.
- Managing & reconciling cash flow/bank
- Preparing VAT returns
- Collating information for month & year-end returns, whilst liaising with external accountants
- Filing statutory reports & documents
- Invoicing clients in a timely manner in liaison with multiple team members, processing invoices received via online accounting software & conducting credit control as/when required
- Verifying & checking employee expenses
- Ensure any payments are approved & paid on schedule.
- Liaise with external payroll providers in regards to starters, leavers & any changes.
- Check payroll & make any payments with relevant deductions
- Pension submissions
Essential Qualities/Experience:
- AAT/QBE
- Strong skills in cloud-based software i.e. Xero
- A team player with good communication skills
- Ability to work to deadlines with accuracy
